Thought for the Week: Esther 8:1-2

by admin on July 7, 2013 in Faith, Thought for the Week with No Comments

Holy God, You are all-powerful. With You, I have nothing to fear. You are my conqueror and redeemer. You know the cries of my heart and the injustice around me. Overwhelm my heart and circumstances with Your justice so that I may rest in You despite the fear and turmoil in my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thought for the Week: Psalm 90:12

by admin on June 16, 2013 in Faith, Relationship, Thought for the Week with No Comments

Lord, my life is but a blip compared to eternity. Give me an eternal perspective in my marriage so that I could endure the dark times and always find worth in my daily sacrifice. Help me to live with a wise heart that cherishes each moment of my life as an opportunity to know You better and to share You with others, especially in my marriage. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Marriage from Prayer, Letter 3

by admin on June 11, 2013 in Faith, Purity, Relationship with No Comments

One of my favorite things about you is that you put Christ before everything.  You pray for me and I hear the words my heart longs to receive.  Your voice is the instrument of our Lord.  Such sweet breath.  Such lovely words.  I am amazed that you, being so sweet and lovely, have chosen me to be your husband.  How grateful I am.  How wonderful you are.  How beautiful.  How excellent.

Thought for the Week: Psalm 119:9

by admin on May 26, 2013 in Faith, Scripture, Thought for the Week with No Comments

Holy God, You are perfect in every way. Show me my sin, Lord, and give me the courage to face it, to confess it, and to lay it at Your feet so that You would help me repent. Heal me and restore me on a daily basis. I do not want anything to stand between You and me or between my husband and me, so bring to light anything that is currently in darkness. Show me how to use Your Word to guard myself from future sin. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Praying Together

by admin on May 21, 2013 in Faith, Purity, Relationship with No Comments

Coming before the throne of grace together as a married couple will bring such blessing into your marriage. When both people are individually confessing their sins and soaking up the awe of God’s presence, both people will begin to conform to the image of Christ. And when both people in a marriage do that together, there is an un-replicated unity of authentic selves.

Thought for the Week: Psalm 124:8

by admin on May 19, 2013 in Faith, Thought for the Week with No Comments

Lord, Almighty Creator, You are greater than I can fathom. I can’t even understand heaven and earth, let alone create them. I take solace in that and comfort in the truth that my help comes from You; I will not be overwhelmed by sin or burden. Let me not shy away from examining my sin or accepting the trials in my life today, because I know that the greater it is, the more glory will be to Your name when You claim victory over it. Be glorified even in the dark depths of my heart today, Lord Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Holy God, praise be to Your name that You reign over all things. Your name has no defeat, and I have no reason to fear. Thank You for Your victory in my life. What Satan or man intends for evil, Lord, use it for good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Be Still

God is God, the creator of the cosmos, the redeemer of man, the victor over death, the ruler of nations and earth.  He is worth your time and attention, and you can trust Him with your stress, your tasks, your sorrow, your needs, your dreams, your fears…

Paying with Ointment or with Copper?

by admin on April 16, 2013 in Budget, Faith with No Comments

Here we see the lavish and the meager, both of which were pleasing to Jesus, even if other people didn’t understand why. In truth, the ointment and the copper coins were both lavish offerings in the sense that they were of great worth to the giver; the ointment was perceived as lavish and the copper coins were not simply because of their monetary value. Jesus, however, knew the cost to the giver, and He knew their attitudes of giving.

Thought for the Week: Psalm 139:1-4

by admin on April 14, 2013 in Faith, Health with No Comments

Lord, You know my lying downs. You know when I am asleep and when I’m awake. You know all the thoughts that rush through my mind. You know my body and what kind of energy I will need to thrive on my wedding day. Let me rest in that assurance even if my body is unable to claim rest the night before the big day. Be glorified even in my restlessness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
