When TV Takes First Place

by admin on March 4, 2015 in Relationship with No Comments

What do you do when your spouse has a TV habit that makes you feel invisible and undervalued?  This common dynamic can subtly divide a marriage team and can derail a marriage from its God-given purposes.  But TV is not the enemy.  At the heart of the conflict are hurts such as feeling alone, unheard,…continued here

TV, The Third Wheel

by admin on September 6, 2014 in Relationship with No Comments

TV is an amazing gift to be sure, but so many couples, my husband and I included, let it take a place in the marriage that limits and dulls the connection between husband and wife, as well as between each person and God.  How can a husband and wife create healthy boundaries in their TV…continued here

In First Place

by admin on May 6, 2014 in Relationship with 2 Comments

My husband is my beloved, my chosen one.  Since we fell in love, he has had first place in my heart.  Well, until we had our daughter, that is. I know I’m not alone.  Many marriages fall to the wayside when the kids come.  For several months, this is a necessary shift in focus, a…continued here

Thought for the Week: Psalm 81:1

by admin on July 14, 2013 in Communication, Relationship, Thought for the Week with 1 Comment

Lord of lords, I delight in You! You are my first love, and I want everyone to know about You. Give me courage to be free in expressing my love for You. Give me a language of praise that is unique to our relationship. Be ever glorified in my songs, my shouts, my words, and my deeds. And as I learn to love my husband more and more, let that relationship always be a reflection of my relationship with You and not the other way around. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Modesty as a Marriage Tool

by admin on July 9, 2013 in Attire, Purity, Relationship with 3 Comments

I think it’s beautiful and even a little sultry for my husband to be the only one who gets to know what I look like in something slinky, wild, or sexy. As far as I’m concerned, no one else needs to be thinking about me in that way, so I shouldn’t give them opportunity to.

Even more compelling to me than protecting that spark for my husband (because I think every guy wishes his gal were hot eye candy to some degree. You know, a “That’s right, fellas…I don’t know what she’s doing with me either, but I’ve got a hottie” kind of thing) is protecting the sanctity in the marriages around me.

Thought for the Week: Psalm 101:2

by admin on June 30, 2013 in Relationship, Thought for the Week with No Comments

Heavenly Father, all the goodness in me is a gift from You.  There is nothing righteous in me apart from You, so I thank You for Your grace and for Your Spirit Who transforms my heart.  Strengthen me to be a light in my home so that my words, thoughts, and deeds will always be those that reflect You.  May that integrity of heart greatly bless my husband and family.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
