Candy, Candy, Candy!
Who doesn’t love candy? It’s sweet, it’s cheap, it’s tasty, and it’s a rush.
So why not have a candy bar at your wedding reception? Guests love to have “activities” during the reception, especially if they aren’t into dancing or if they don’t know anyone. Having the opportunity to get up any time they want and refill their favor bags with delicious candy is a win.
Apothecary jars make excellent candy holders while maintaining an appearance of presentation. Each jar can be filled with a certain color of candy to keep the display in line with your color palette.
Much to parents’ chagrin, kids love the candy bar. In the midst of a formal, adult event, kids can feel welcomed by having a corner of the reception room in which they are in their element and can have a great time.
In addition to making a great activity and decoration, a candy bar can actually serve as your dessert. If you do use it as your dessert, you might include a couple more substantial items like donut holes, cupcakes, pastries, or chocolate-covered strawberries. Even with these added items, using a candy bar as your dessert option will drastically reduce the price of your “cake budget.”
