The Sweet Christian Bride

In the Spirit of Gratitude

I’ve always been told that gratitude is thanks for what God has done and that praise is thanks for Who God is.  Sometimes it’s easier to thank God for what He has done because that is frequently how we experience Who He is, but if we look one step deeper into those blessings, we can see the person behind the gifts.

Around this holiday of thanks and in this season of wedding celebration, let’s thank God for the long-term tapestry He has been weaving together, for the long-standing relationships that have shaped us, for the big picture of the price He paid for our sake, and for other good sweeping structures and patterns in our lives.

And let’s thank God for the daily bread He provides for us, for the details of your weddings that He is bringing together, and for the little joys in the midst of our busy days.

God, we praise You for being an orchestrator, a refiner, a companion, our Savior, a provider, a planner, and a light.  You are omniscient, faithful, sacrificial, merciful, just, near, fulfilling, omnipotent, and delightful.  You are our redemption, our restoration, our joy, and our purpose.  We love You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
