The Sweet Christian Bride

Starring the Bride-To-Be

Most bridal showers have a theme.  Usually it’s along the lines of a type of gift such as a Lingerie Shower or an Around the Clock shower (guests buy a gift that coordinates with an hour of the day).  Other times the theme is based on the location or the food selection.

Who doesn’t love a themed shower? They are all great.  Well, more accurately, I have never been to a bad bridal shower.  I’m sure they exist, but usually a happy bride makes for a sweet celebration no matter the theme.  Having said that, it’s always fun when the hosts put some thoughtfulness into it and choose a theme that reflects the personality of the bride.

Just last week I received an invitation to a bridal shower that was totally reflective of the bride’s gregarious personality, glowing beauty, and radiating confidence: The Red Carpet.

Brilliant!  Hollywood had always made my list when considering prom themes or costume  party ideas, but I had never heard of it as a bridal shower theme.  Why not, right?  Everyone loves dressing up in gowns they never have excuses to wear.  And why should the bride have to wait to go glam until the wedding day?

The invitation actually had rhinestones on it!  And every word on the invitation was cleverly translated into Hollywood speak:

YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO A RED CARPET BRIDAL EVENT STARRING

(BRIDE’S NAME)

AS THE “BRIDE-TO-BE”

(NECESSARY DETAILS)

“HOLLYWOOD GLAM” ATTIRE

HAVE YOUR PEOPLE CALL OUR PEOPLE (RSVP PHONE NUMBERS)

PRODUCERS: (NAMES OF HOSTESSES)

I don’t really ever want to throw this invitation away because it’s a little work of art all on its own.  This shower is going to be amazing.

Wow! Love the idea of a ‘red carpet’ themed party. I have a close friend who might be perfect for that – she is a film critic 😉
