Lord of lords, I delight in You! You are my first love, and I want everyone to know about You. Give me courage to be free in expressing my love for You. Give me a language of praise that is unique to our relationship. Be ever glorified in my songs, my shouts, my words, and my deeds. And as I learn to love my husband more and more, let that relationship always be a reflection of my relationship with You and not the other way around. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Holy God, You are all-powerful. With You, I have nothing to fear. You are my conqueror and redeemer. You know the cries of my heart and the injustice around me. Overwhelm my heart and circumstances with Your justice so that I may rest in You despite the fear and turmoil in my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Heavenly Father, all the goodness in me is a gift from You. There is nothing righteous in me apart from You, so I thank You for Your grace and for Your Spirit Who transforms my heart. Strengthen me to be a light in my home so that my words, thoughts, and deeds will always be those that reflect You. May that integrity of heart greatly bless my husband and family. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Heavenly Father, You are the source of true peace, love, and forgiveness. Because You are all-powerful, I know that You can forgive my husband through me even when I am too weak to do so. Let the sun never go down on my anger, and help my husband and I to work through our sin, hurt, and anger with the very grace and mercy that You have given each of us. Teach us how to love like You love. Thank You, Lord! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Lord, my life is but a blip compared to eternity. Give me an eternal perspective in my marriage so that I could endure the dark times and always find worth in my daily sacrifice. Help me to live with a wise heart that cherishes each moment of my life as an opportunity to know You better and to share You with others, especially in my marriage. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Jesus, You are more glorious than I could ever imagine. Your sovereignty reaches beyond where I can see. Your wisdom is more profound than I could ever comprehend. Forgive me for knowing all that yet keeping control to myself. I desire to control the process, and I desire credit for the results I yield. But I know in my heart, my control barely scratches the surface of Your purpose. Help me to do Kingdom work in my wedding planning, that all of my efforts would be for You, and help me to release the details to You so that You might perfect my efforts for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Heavenly Father, You do not mess up when You bring forth circumstances, and You do not mess up when You prevent them. I can’t fully see the great plan that you are orchestrating, and I don’t always know what You hold back when You are preventing something; all I know is how I feel about what I perceive. I confess that it will be very hard for me if (name people) doesn’t/don’t show up to the wedding. Will You please gather those who are supposed to be there and help me to trust that those who can’t come are somehow in Your will for not being there? In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Holy God, You are perfect in every way. Show me my sin, Lord, and give me the courage to face it, to confess it, and to lay it at Your feet so that You would help me repent. Heal me and restore me on a daily basis. I do not want anything to stand between You and me or between my husband and me, so bring to light anything that is currently in darkness. Show me how to use Your Word to guard myself from future sin. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Lord, Almighty Creator, You are greater than I can fathom. I can’t even understand heaven and earth, let alone create them. I take solace in that and comfort in the truth that my help comes from You; I will not be overwhelmed by sin or burden. Let me not shy away from examining my sin or accepting the trials in my life today, because I know that the greater it is, the more glory will be to Your name when You claim victory over it. Be glorified even in the dark depths of my heart today, Lord Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Abba, my life is ultimately a gift from You. Let me rejoice in the good that has been passed down to me and let me surrender the bad. I desire to be a good steward of my life and to leave a goodly heritage, a legacy that would point all aspects of my life to You, the Living God Who loves us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
