Thought for the Week: Genesis 18:14

“Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son” (Genesis 18:14).

God is insurmountable, unpredictable, impenetrable, creative, innovative, resourceful, and masterful. There is nothing He cannot do. He is the One Who raises the dead, and He is the One Who gives life. He opened Sarah’s womb after she had already gone through menopause. He can do what He sets out to do.

So let’s hope big.

Who in your family and who of your friends is hardened to the Lord? Cannot the Lord soften their hearts? Who is zealous in another religion? Cannot the Lord point their spirits to Him? Who are your leaders and icons? Cannot the Lord hear Your prayers for those whose mighty reputations makes your prayers for them feel futile? There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that is too hard for the Lord. Bring your petitions to Him!

Lord of lords, You are almighty! You are sovereign! You are omnipotent! Bring to mind people who don’t know You so that I can beseech Your intervention in their lives—that they would know, by the power and grace of Your Holy Spirit, how much You love them. They they would find peace, joy, salvation, and hope in You, our Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
