Thought for the Week: Zechariah 2:8

“For thus said the Lord of hosts (after his glory sent me) regarding the nations that plundered you: Truly, one who touches you touches the apple of my eye”(Zechariah 2:8).

You are the apple of God’s eye!  Think about that.  God, the creator of the universe Who could create anyone or anything, the One Who knows the inner depths of your heart, delights in you.  You are His pleasure and His masterpiece.

Can you accept this?  If not, what stands in your way of believing and receiving God’s elevation of you?  You reflect Him.  You are worthy because of Him.  Come to the Lord, and let Him show you how much you please Him.

Lord, loving Father, why do You delight in me?  At times I feel arrogant accepting it.  Other times, I reject the notion because I know how unlovable I can be.  But in my spirit, I know there is truth and peace in receiving Your esteem for me because my identity is rooted in You.  You are responsible for any goodness in me, and I want to praise You and Your work by magnifying You with my life and my being.  Refine my self-image to Your glory.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
